The whole-person approach to addiction recovery

Addiction is a complex disorder that affects the whole person. We deliver an effective approach to addiction recovery which is individualized, collaborative and comprehensive. Our Recovery Community program adheres to the evidence based Therapeutic Community model, which takes a whole-person

perspective that emphasizes lifestyle change and development.

At Lakeview residents can learn and develop healthy behaviours in a safe and structured environment, with the support of experienced recovery professionals and peers. Our program is designed to improve residents’ health and well-being, minimize the risk of relapse, help develop meaningful relationships and social skills and facilitate a transition to a healthier lifestyle and long-term recovery.

The role of family in the recovery journey

At Lakeview, we recognize the importance of family and loved ones. With our resident's agreement, we keep families up to date on the individual’s progress and invite family members to join our family conferences and various activity days. Once a member has settled in, there are ample opportunities for weekend visits and video / phone calls throughout the week. We also have a dedicated family room where children can play or explore our extensive gardens.

Inclusive Support

Lakeview Recovery Community is committed to ensuring equity of access to people from across the province. We welcome men over the age of 18, of all ethnicities, sexual orientations and we seek to be as inclusive as possible to people with disabilities.

Our staff are culturally aware and sensitive to diverse needs. Each member we welcome into Lakeview will have their needs assessed on an individual basis so that we ensure a full program of tailored support.

We have designed the spaces throughout Lakeview to be accessible and psychologically informed. We hope all residents feel safe and secure in their new environment and that they soon feel at home.
